Showered oak dining table
This table was made for some close friends that had recently had their bathroom refurbished. The glass top of the table was part of the walk in shower that was removed during the renovations.
The table was designed to highlight the naturalness and grain of the wood. The legs were made from solid chunks of english oak and the top was made of planks formed into box sections. This was done to minimise movement in the timber and help reduce the weight so the table was relatively easily moved. American black walnut pegs were used to secure the legs in place and break up the large expanses of oak a little.
